This program allows Medical students and graduates to gain an appreciation of the way in which research informs the practice of medicine. Learning outcomes It embeds you in a research setting with Malaysian and internationally recognised researchers, where you will learn skills relating to data analysis and the communication of scientific ideas in oral presentations and a written thesis. You will be able to choose from an array of research streams, and match your interest to the respective projects. > Effective communication for research Course structure This course consists of a combination of coursework and research. In the coursework component, you will develop advanced research skills in your area of focus. In the research component, you will plan and execute a research project under the individual guidance of an academic supervisor. You will develop a number of important attributes including: > Capacity for enquiry and research > Critical thinking, analysis and problem solving > Ethical, social and international understanding > Self-management and teamwork > Capacity to conduct practitioner or higher degree research > Eligibility for scholarship funding to support higher degree research (depends on academic grades) CAREER PATHS This program will prepare you to be an evidence-based and research-skilled clinician.
