Academic Progress , Probation , and Program Dismissal : If the student ’ s cumulative grade point average falls below a 2.0 , they may be placed on Academic Probation and will have until the conclusion of the next six credits to improve their cumulative grade point average . If the student fails to improve their cumulative grade point average to a 2.0 or greater within the next six credits , the student may be dismissed from the program . A course may be repeated once . If the student fails to receive a “ C ” grade or better after repeating a course once , the student , regardless of their cumulative grade point average may be dismissed from the program .

Program Description : The Computer Information Science program combines the fundamental problemsolving capabilities of computer science with hands-on experience in several areas of CIS , including programming , networking , cybersecurity , computer forensics , artificial intelligence , machine learning , data mining , database development , web design , multimedia , and mobile applications .

Transfers , Internal : Students interesting in changing their major to the BS Computer Information Science program may do so at any time but must have earned a GPA of 2.5 or higher prior to being accepted into the program . Internal transfers will meet with the Program Director to discuss their
interest , the requirements of the program , and the transfer of credits from their previous major .
