Major Exploration
UNV-002 is designed to help students explore majors in a holistic , interactive , and intentional manner . Students will discover , examine , and refine academic and career interests as well as learn about the major / career decision making process through self-assessments , evaluation activities of majors and careers , faculty guest speakers , and implementing an action plan . All University Studies first-year students are required to take UNV-002 during their first semester ; although , it is open to all students . Please note this course will not count towards a student ' s total credits for graduation .

GMercyU Success
This is the first course in the core curriculum and will transition students into the Gwynedd Mercy University community . It has three main goals : fostering the development of academic skills , educating students in the Mercy tradition and the mission of the University , and supporting the positive growth of interpersonal and social skills , all of which are necessary for success in the collegiate environment . In addition , this course introduces students to the concept of service to society reflective of the Mercy charism . Finally , UNV-100 seeks to develop student engagement with academic and co-curricular programming throughout the University ; therefore , students will be required to attend approved events on campus .
