OSC-421 Occupational Therapy & Upper Extremity Rehabilitation
This course focuses on the evaluation and treatment of upper extremity dysfunction from an occupational therapy perspective . This lecture / lab combination covers nerve and muscular / orthopedic issues throughout the upper extremity with an emphasis on the wrist and hand . Multiple orthotics are fabricated in the lab portion of this course .

The lab portion of this course covers hands-on skills for upper extremity rehabilitation within the scope of occupational therapy practice . Multiple orthotics will be fabricated for the purpose of improving wrist , hand , and / or finger function for improved occupational performance .

High Intensity Interval Training
High Intensity Interval Training ( HIIT ) involves high-intensity exercise intervals intermingled with periods of lower intensity intervals of active recovery . HIIT training calls for challenging work for short time frames lasting from thirty seconds to two minutes . The class runs for one hour twice per week .

This class teaches basic principles of weight training . Types of weight training exercises and nutrition and fitness concepts are introduced which instruct students to design their own personal program .

This is a group aerobic exercise class that will also provide information on cardiovascular fitness , weight control , stress management and benefits of exercise .
