This course expands future healthcare professionals ' knowledge of patient education
This is a hybrid course , combines both classroom setting some weeks , with alternating online assignments for other weeks . Students will learn the importance of empowering patients through education to increase patients ' ability and encourage positive behavioral , health-related changes , and stages of changes . In addition , students may have the opportunity to work in interdisciplinary groups to create and evaluate patient education interventions . This course will promote integration of concepts related to education , research , and technology .

This course provides an introduction to principles of research and evidenced-based practice in professional nursing practice . Emphasis is placed on the role of evidencebased practice as the basis for clinical decision making . Learning activities provide the student with the opportunity to develop skills necessary to become a competent consumer of research and other sources of evidence , preparing them for the expectations of a new graduate in professional practice . |
