College English
ENG101 prepares students to write in their academic and professional careers through the study of effective communication in a variety of rhetorical situations and modes . This course focuses on the expository and persuasive components of rhetoric , with special emphasis on engagement in the writing process ; information and digital literacy skills ; source integration and synthesis ; analysis and argumentation ; and effective application of peer and instructor review .

Students explore literary genres from selected
world masterpieces with emphasis on style and
philosophic import and write themes of critical
analysis .

Play Production
This course emphasizes the fundamentals of play production - script selection , casting , blocking , lighting , publicity and culminates in the production of a play .
ENG-105
Grammar Review
This class reviews the basics of traditional grammar - classes of words and sentences , inflections and functions of English , syntactical relationships and usage - and examines alternative grammar systems .

Public Speaking
This is a course in public speaking with emphasis on informative , argumentative and persuasive skills along with the sharpening of student ' s ability to listen and analyze .
