EDU-104 Health and Motor Development PreK-4 Health and safety issues are examined with regard to nutrition reducing health risks and health influences . Emphasis will be on the development of motor skills and safety as students plan and present lessons supporting the national and PA Academic Health Education Standards . The class will also include the value of play , games and sports in child development . This course is approached from a Pre K - 4th grade classroom teacher ' s viewpoint as students demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the National Association for Sport and Physical Education for Pre-K to grade 4 .

EDU-106 Family , School and Community Connect Students are presented with the scope of diverse family structures and accompanying family member roles . Community resources will be thoroughly examined . Students develop and practice effective communication structures for individual , small and large group formal and informal interactions . Professional practices with the goal of creating meaningful relationships with families and within the community at large are emphasized

EDU-112 Philosophical Found Middle Grades Edu This is a foundation course in American middle grades education . A major thrust of the course involves the study of the philosophical foundations for middle level education as described by the NMSA ( National Middle School Association ). The unique characteristics and development of adolescents will be examined .
