Program Student Learning Outcomes : PLO1 : Students will be able to analyze from different perspectives the impact of physiology , social interaction , group situations , interpersonal relations , attitudes , opinions , and communication on human behavior . PLO2 : Students will be able to identify and articulate the characteristics of typical development throughout the life span in terms of physical , cognitive , psychological , and psychosocial development . PLO3 : Students will be able to identify atypical personality development and psychopathology , as well as articulate the process of diagnosis , prognosis , and appropriate treatment of behavioral disorders . PLO4 : Students will be able to understand key concepts in statistics and research methodology and be able to use their acquired knowledge and critical thinking skills to a ) engage in critical analysis of original research studies in the field demonstrated through class discussion , research papers , and presentations and b ) develop and implement an original research study , including a research proposal , IRB submission / approval , gathering and analyzing data , and presenting findings in a professional setting . Academic Standards / Grade Requirements : A grade of C or higher is required in each of the major courses including those taken as general education requirements PSY 100 and SOC 100 . The Bachelor of Science in Psychology also requires that students receive a grade of C or higher in the two natural and computational science electives required for the BS core .
Attendance Policies ( including Lab / Clinical Attendance Policies ): Same as University
Academic Progress , ( Probation ), and Program Dismissal : A student may achieve less than a “ C ” grade in only two major courses and he / she may repeat these courses only once . If a student , regardless of his / her cumulative grade point average , achieves less than a “ C ” grade on a third major course , or fails to bring all grades up to a “ C ” with one repeat he / she will be dismissed from the program . Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Program Coordinator or the Dean .
