First Year Experience I |
This is the first course in the core curriculum and will transition students into the Gwynedd Mercy University community . It has three main goals : fostering the development of academic skills , educating students in the Mercy tradition and the mission of the University , and supporting the positive growth of interpersonal and social skills , all of which are necessary for success in the collegiate environment . In addition , this course introduces students to the concept of service to society reflective of the Mercy charism . Finally , FYE 1000 seeks to develop student engagement with academic and cocurricular programming throughout the University ; therefore , students will be required to attend approved events on campus . Students are required to attend the first class meeting which is held during New Student Orientation . |
