This course introduces students to the Linux / Unix operating systems . Beginning with a brief history of Linux and Unix , students will learn how to determine the best distribution ( distro ) to download and install based on organizational needs . Fundamentals such as system , commands , utilities , text editing , processing utilities , and permissions will be covered . This course is required for Computer Forensic / Cybersecurity majors because it is essential for running many forensic and penetration testing software . Web Design and Multimedia students are required to take this course because it is an integral part of LAMP . |
