Principles of classical mechanics for science and mathematics majors . Topics include description of motion ( kinematics ), force and momentum , work and energy , energy and momentum conservation , rotational motion of rigid bodies , and simple harmonic motion . Mathematical level requires a working knowledge of differential and integral calculus . 3 lecture hours and 1 recitation hour . Offered in the fall semester .
