There is no refund for unauthorized withdrawal . The date of withdrawal is determined from the time the appropriate office receives the withdrawal form .

Repeated Withdrawals Students must refer to their respective School ’ s guidelines regarding course withdrawals . Students may withdraw only once from each course required in their major curriculum , or each pre-requisite for a major course . A second withdrawal from any required or prerequisite course may result in program dismissal .
Withdrawal from the University All students who wish to withdraw from the University must complete a University Withdrawal form ( there are separate forms for Term and Non-Term programs ) and submit to the Dean of their School for approval . Students must understand that a withdrawal is a permanent decision . Students who withdraw from the University will need to re-apply to the University should they wish to return after one calendar year . Once the course begins , students are financially responsible for all courses from which they withdraw . If applicable , the official date when a student withdraws from the university ( designated by the date the student notifies the university of the decision to withdraw ) is the basis to determine refunds or tuition adjustment . Students who request a complete withdrawal from the University after the end of the withdrawal period must submit the University Withdrawal form / Program Withdrawal form with appropriate documentation that supports their request to their School Dean . The final decision will be made by the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs in consultation with the School Dean .
Placement Assessment for Writing and Mathematics
* NOTE : Does not apply to students enrolled in 2 nd Degree ABSN and Non -Term Programs To ensure that every student admitted to Gwynedd Mercy University is prepared to succeed in college-level courses , many of which require advanced writing and mathematics skills , the University requires that new first-year , transfer , and non-matriculated students take the Gwynedd Mercy University placement assessments for English and mathematics before registering for their first semester .
Students will have access to online placement assessments through Canvas within one week of making their admission deposit . The assessments are available through the GMercyU Portal , with login credentials . The online placement assessments include objective questions in mathematics , as well as a written essay , questionnaire , and reading comprehension questions . The assessments are untimed , and retests are not permitted .
Students are exempt from taking the respective placement exam if they meet one of the following exemptions :
• A score of at least three ( 3 ) on the Princeton Advanced Placement Test in English ( Language and Composition ) and / or mathematics ( Calculus or Statistics )
• If you took the SAT and received a score of at least 35 or 680 in the reading test and a 680 in the mathematics test
• Transfer credits for college-level English composition or college-level mathematics courses ( earned grade of C or better ) through the official acceptance of transfer credits by the
