Students who choose not the submit a FAFSA must notify the Office of Financial Aid , so the Aid office can apply any merit scholarship funding to the student ’ s account .
Students Enrolling in Non-Term Programs : Students may be eligible for state and federal need-based aid based on the results of their FAFSA .
Second-Degree Bachelor ’ s Students : In general , students pursuing a second bachelor ’ s degree are not eligible for federal , state or institutional grant-based aid . Students may be eligible for federal student loans or private loans .

Determination of Financial Need
Financial need is determined on the basis of information supplied on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid ( FAFSA ). All applications are analyzed according to a formula known as the Federal Methodology . In determining the extent of a student ’ s need , consideration is given both to the amount of support that may be expected from all family resources , as well as to those factors which affect a family ’ s financial strength , such as taxes , number of dependents , debts , other educational responsibilities and retirement needs . Financial aid is awarded for one academic year at a time ; students must re-apply annually for renewal of aid . Renewal depends upon continued eligibility , satisfactory academic progress , and availability of funds .
Second Bachelor ’ s Degree Students : In general , students pursuing a second bachelor ’ s degree are not eligible for institutional or need-based federal or state financial aid . Students may be eligible for federal or private loans .

Financial Aid Application Procedures ( FAFSA )
A . New Entering Undergraduate Students
Students who wish to receive consideration for need-based financial aid must : 1 . Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid ( FAFSA ) at studentaid . gov . Gwynedd Mercy University ’ s federal code is 003270 . You must enter our school code in order for us to receive the results of your FAFSA . 2 . Complete the Federal Verification process , if selected for verification . 3 . Regularly check the email you used on your FAFSA . If we have questions or need additional paperwork , we will notify you at the email you provided on your FAFSA .
The FAFSA is available on October 1 of each year . Please submit the FAFSA as close to October 1 as possible , and no later than our priority filing date - January 15 .
Once your financial aid package is complete , you will be notified to log into your GMercyU Self Service account to view and accept your aid package .
If you were accepted into a campus undergraduate program and chose not to submit the FAFSA , please notify the Office of Financial Aid , so we can credit any merit scholarship funding for which you may be eligible to your student account .
