Admissions Requirements for Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing ; Weekend Bachelor of Science in Nursing : The Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Weekend BSN programs at Gwynedd Mercy University are designed for students who hold a bachelor ’ s degree in another field . To be considered for admission to these second-degree bachelor ’ s programs , you must provide the following :
• Completed Online Application
• Official transcripts from high school and all colleges or universities attended , including proof that you earned a bachelor ’ s degree from an accredited college or university o Applicants are expected to have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in their first bachelor ’ s degree , and earned B ’ s or better in their science courses
• Applicants also must provide proof of successful completion of required prerequisite courses o Nutrition and science courses must have been completed within the past 7 years to be considered for transfer into the program . Statistics and Development Psychology must have been completed within the last 10 years .
• Required courses include : Anatomy and Physiology I and II with labs , Microbiology with lab , General Chemistry II and lab or Gwynedd Mercy University ’ s Chemistry 111 For Allied Health Sciences and lab , Principles of Nutrition ( taught by a registered dietician ), Statistics , and Development Psychology ( covering the lifespan )
website . After you have been accepted , you will need to take the following additional steps before beginning your nursing classes :
• Pass a criminal background and child abuse records check
• Undergo a drug screening and FBI fingerprinting
• Provide a certificate of health from a primary care provider , including immunization information
• Provide proof of CPR certification and personal health insurance You will also need to obtain an annual flu vaccination and PPD screening throughout the duration of your program .
International Student Admission : International students must meet all admissions requirements noted above . In addition , applicants who have had nursing education outside of the U . S . must have transcripts evaluated by CGFNS

International students who apply to the nursing program must have the ability to obtain the background screening required for placement in a clinical setting and should review state licensure requirements before choosing to enroll .
U . S . citizenship or permanent residency is a requirement for licensure within certain academic programs . International students and students who are under DACA status or are undocumented should carefully review the licensure requirements for their state before enrolling in a degree program that leads to licensure .
