This course will continue the work of the respiratory and cardiac physiology course ( RC 233 ) and provide a detailed account of abnormalities associated with the cardiopulmonary system . Selected cardio-respiratory diseases and conditions will be covered in considerable detail . It will specifically address the : definition , etiology , clinical manifestations , pathology , radiographic , diagnostic and laboratory findings , prevention , prognosis and treatment of common cardiorespiratory diseases and conditions . Emphasis will be placed on evidence-based medicine , care plans and respiratory protocols .
