This database has helped to secure excellent peer reviewers for each article which has ensured the high quality and rigour of these pieces. We continue to build on this database and welcome further applications to the peer review board.
Another new member to the team this issue has been Tom., although it been entirely unnoticeable. Largely because of Tom’ s excellent work and perseverance, this issue saw a large number of abstract submissions from a variety of disciplines and Tom is entirely responsible for the excellent range of articles that are included herein.
Thank you also to my Communications Secretary Joyce. Throughout the process of creating this issue, Joyce has remained calm and diplomatic at all times, even when I have harassed her with a significant number of emails.
Of course, a major thank you goes to all of our editors. Again, we had two new editors join the journal this issue, Rodrigo and Samantha. Thank you both for your hard work and full engagement with the journal. It has been a pleasure to welcome you both to the team. Whilst all of our editors have facilitated this completion of a high quality issue, a special mention is required for Amy. Amy has been with the journal since January 2016 and is the longest serving member of the current editorial team. Unfortunately for the journal, Amy will be departing at the end of this issue. Thank you to Amy for all her hard work, not only over this issue, but over the past few years. As a team, we thank you, and look forward to following your own publication efforts.
Finally, thank you to Glenn. Glenn has not only been incredibly thorough with his editing, but has also taken on extra responsibilities such as training our new editors, and has shown an unwavering commitment to the journal. In addition, Glenn has agreed to take on the ultimate role in the next issue, as Editor in Chief. I have absolute faith that Glenn is the person to take the journal forwards and I am excited to see what he does with this position.
Whilst some team members are staying on, we have other members departing, as is often the case with a postgraduate journal. As such, we are recruiting a number of new positions for the upcoming issue. A full list of these positions and information for applying can be found in the back of this issue. You will also find information about submitting an article in and we encourage any postgraduate students to apply, regardless of your stage of research. Whether you hope to publish, or become part of the team, Under Construction strives to create a friendly and supportive environment which seeks to encourage and facilitate high quality research at the postgraduate level. As previously mentioned, we have a range of excellent and thought provoking articles in this issue, but don’ t just take our word for it. We invite you to read this issue with an open mind and hope you enjoy the diverse and thought-provoking articles as much as we have enjoyed editing them.
