U N B O U ND MAGA Z INE AWARENESS to ACTION! WHAT ARE COMMUNITY GROUPS? A MAP Community Group is a collection of passionate people who work together to address slavery in their community. They provide opportunities for community involvement by developing a presence in the local community focused on addressing slavery and injustice. WHAT DO COMMUNITY GROUPS DO? They plan events and activities focused on prevention, advocacy, and awareness, and partner with other organizations to create change in their neighborhood, city, and county. Examples of Community Group activities: • Training first-responders such as law enforcement, social services, medical professionals, and teachers. • Organizing a Freedom Marketplace – a fair trade market featuring products from around the world (including local products)! • Film screenings – during January 2014 for Human Trafficking Awareness Month Community Groups screened the film Chosen all across the state. • • • Running groups – raising awareness, funds, and fitness! • Where are Community Groups: 1.
