Rachael Hutchinson
Rachael Hutchinson has had an interest in creating
clothing since a young age. She aspires to work
doing theatrical costumes and will be continuing
her studies next year in the Costume Production
program at Fanshawe. One of the most formative
experiences of this program for Rachael was the
collaborative Sheridan-Fanshawe project, where
she was partnered with a student from the Sheridan
College textile program. Together they created a
fanciful daywear dress and cape, featuring multiple
fabric manipulations and dye/printing techniques.
(INSIDE) Out of Body is a collection inspired by
human anatomy. It features textures representing
tracheas, and patterns reminiscent of cellular
structures. The most prominent details of this
collection are the laser-cut, hand-embroidered
holes. The collection transforms the structures
and mechanics of the body into a soft, quirky,
summer line.
