Fiona Magor
Fiona Magor has always been passionate about
clothing with novelty prints. Before coming to
Fanshawe, she studied English Literature at the
University of Windsor. During her time there
she worked in the University’s costume shop,
where she fell in love with sewing and decided to
pursue costuming as a career. She will continue
her education this fall in Fanshawe’s Costume
Production program. Fiona hopes that her attention
to detail and dedication to garment construction
will ultimately help her to find a job working in
theatre.
A Rind of Her Own was inspired by unusual
construction
techniques,
bright
colours
and
geometric prints. The historical technique of
cartridge pleats is explored by applying it to
different parts of the body and to different fabrics,
from soft, flowing chiffon to structured twill. A
custom print was designed by Windsor-based artist
Kristina Bradt to complement both the other prints
used in the line and the construction of the circular
hem and orange and leaf pockets.
