Nicole Rancourt
Nicole is a young designer who pulls inspiration from all
aspects of life. Her timeless design aesthetic comes from
years in a ballet studio. She has strong skills in technical
pattern making as well as construction of garments. She
creatively tries to explore new ways to design garments
that are functional and ideal for women. The goal upon
graduation is to further develop skills in design.
Paraitre Partout is the embodiment of lose. The
inspiration behind this collection is the five stages of
grief. The line work on the garments made from laser-cut
leather, represents the different states of mind people
find themselves in when losing someone significant in
their lives. Line work is highlighted by leather pieces in
intricate patterns. Grief is constricting, but over time we
evolve and become more resilient. This is an evening
wear collection using rich fabrics such as silk and leather
from the confining of leather on the torso to mimic that
of grief to the explosion of anger. Fragmented leather
pieces give the illusion of movement across the body.
