Valentina Diaz Avila. 8B
Swimming is a sport and one of the most complete physical activities that has existed over the years. Every day, it has gained a lot of importance at a sporting level due to its impact and benefits with respect to our human body. Swimming offers both physical, cardiovascular, and respiratory benefits; it also helps us with muscle strengthening, increased flexibility, and weight control. Through swimming, we can obtain mental benefits such as stress reduction and improved mood. It is worth mentioning that this activity is low-impact, ideal for people of all ages. Nowadays, even medicine suggests and approves this activity as a method of therapy to achieve a healthy habit in our day-to-day, and if it is the case, to improve the quality of life of people who suffer from joint problems such as arthritis, lower back pain, and / or hernias. This sport has several styles, such as freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Each one strengthens our body. Now, considering the physical development of children, this sport contributes to developing average height, strength, and mobility. Additionally, it helps alleviate the stress that studying and / or screen time can generate from the early school stages. Furthermore, it has a beneficial effect on their sleep patterns. Adults and children should practice this sport, as it can provide us with survival skills that can save our lives.

The Digital World and the Youth

Andrés Noriega Valencia. 9A.
Nowadays, technology is part of our daily life, and for young people it’ s even more important. Today, teenagers use their phones, computers and the internet almost every day. We study with online platforms, talk with friends through social media, and play games with people from other countries. Technology makes our lives easier and more connected.
However, there are also negative effects. Many young people spend too many hours on their phones or watching videos. Sometimes we prefer to chat online instead of talking face to face. This can make us feel more alone, even if we are“ connected” all the time. Plus, there are many dangers brought up with technological advances, especially for kids, because they are vulnerable to being fooled by people with bad intentions.
If we compare it with past generations, life was very different even a few years ago. Around thirty to sixty years ago, our parents and grandparents used to play outside more, talk in person, and write letters. They didn’ t have the same distractions, but also, they didn’ t have the same
opportunities to learn from the internet or meet people from far away.
For the new generations, technology can bring both opportunities and problems. On one hand, children grow up learning very fast because they have access to information and tools since they are very young. On the other hand, they may have less patience, more stress, and less time outdoors. These effects will probably change the way they work, study, and even build relationships in the future.
In conclusion, technology has changed the way young people live and communicate. It has good sides, like helping us study and stay in touch, but it also has bad sides, like addiction or less real contact. The challenge for our generation is to find balance, using technology in a smart and healthy way, it’ s our job to learn how to get advantage of the

possibilities and facilities that are given to us by these innovations, as it is to guide people how can’ t by their self or need help to do it.
