The Library That Waits

Santiago Patiño Eszler. 7C

Flying with the imagination

An iron gate was there in the unperturbed alley of the town between a closed clock shop and a run-down flower market. Few saw it, and fewer still found it open when they went to try the door. Yet, once every ten years, on a misty September night, it swung slowly open in response to one’ s touch.
Nobody has been looking for it. She looks for her cat, Lemon, who has darted out of her apartment during a storm. She followed the flash of yellow for blocks before she understood that she no longer knew the streets, and that was when she saw the gate.
She found the court beyond, where neglect had broken stones and vines sprawled like lazy serpents. At the far end stood a small building of dark wood and pale stone, illuminated like a lantern of colored glass with candle flame. A sign across the door creaked: The Library That Waits
Inside, rain and paper smells fi- lled her lungs. The librarian— a moss-green-robed woman who stood almost as tall as the shelf— did not call for her name. She just pointed at the shelves.
" You may find what you did not know was lost," she said. " But you have to give back what you take— be it a memory, a moment, or a map."
Emery walked through the aisles. The books breathed quietly. Others whispered. One of them opened when she ran her hand against it and showed her a photograph from her childhood: a birthday party she ' d forgotten years ago, her grandfather ' s laughter stuck in the margins.
She didn ' t notice Lemon. But she noticed something else.
A small, leather-bound book. The title page read:
" This is the story of the day you changed your life and never remembered."
As she read, the world shifted. The rain outside stopped. Time froze. She saw a part of herself— braver, more inquisitive, more empathetic— who had made a choice once that saved a person. A person she could no longer remember.
When she finally looked up, the librarian was standing there.
" Will you return it?" she asked.
" No," said Emery. " I think I ' m supposed to keep it."
The librarian smiled.
" Then remember this: The Library will be waiting for you again ten years from now. Bring back what you borrowed. Or be prepared to give something else in exchange."
As Emery stepped out into the air, the gate closed behind her. Lemon sat on the pavement, tail curled up tightly, as if nothing had happened.
She escorted him home and walked. And though she never walked along that street again, the journal always sat near her bedside, always open to a blank page each morning— pages not there the night before.

Steal a Brain rot is a fun and exciting game on Roblox. In this game, you can steal, buy, and sell things, but the most important rule is to have fun. It is one of the most popular Roblox games, with more than one million players every day. The game is simple, but many people like it because it makes you feel excited. You never know when someone will steal from you, or the feeling you get when you steal something important. That is what makes the game special.

My favorite shop

My family and I love going to Miniso. We often find stuffed animals, craft supplies, makeup, home items, and a wide variety of other products. It’ s located in the Cacique Shopping Center and is open from Monday to Sunday. The worst thing is that there are only a few stores in Bucaramanga, so it gets very crowded, and some things are quite expensive. However, the products are different from those in other shops, and the employees are very attentive. The best thing about Miniso is the variety of products. The last time I went, I bought some good-quality markers for a party.
