Sure, most of us do not end up learning to play jazz flute or never again picking our nose in the car, but what about those resolutions that are not as challenging to observe – the ones that enhance our lives by necessitating a certain joie de vivre rather than certain deprivation? As if we weren’t already steadily going through the bucket list this side, we decided to investigate a few offerings that may prove helpful in fulfilling some of our more enjoyable resolutions this year. While American comedian Pete Holmes describes New Year’s resolutions as the word “stop” written above everything we did on New Year’s Eve, we argue that the complete opposite could also make for a most pleasant year. We were so inspired by the fantastic bubbly we popped open as the clock struck 12 that we went out of our way to offer a bumper wine section in this edition. The food we enjoyed on the evening was so good that we decided to find out where we could learn to make it ourselves. The weather was so balmy that we resolved to spend more time on the beach, featuring on e of our alltime favourite island escapes by way of inspiration should you wish to do the same. In short, “more memorable moments” is our mantra for 2015. If we can’t achieve that flying over the Twelve Apostles in a helicopter or wooing our significant others on a five-star romantic bush getaway, we probably never will. And if the hedonism of it all becomes too much, we would happily head back to our cover destination, Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve & Wellness Retreat, to restore our bodies and minds while disappearing back into the awe-inspiring natural splendour from which all else arises.
