flavours the world has not enjoyed.
You’ll visit Buddhist temples where tea
has long played a vital role, walk in the
tea mountains and visit local tea festivals.
You will immerse yourself in this ancient
country through its food, culture, people,
landscape and tea.
Both the Boseong and the Hadong
tea festivals are important events in the
South Korean calendar. Here, you will
meet local farmers with their freshly
made tea. Stroll along the river banks,
climb the tea mountains and walk in the
temples in the twilight.
In Daegu you’ll visit the Paruncha Tea
Institute to discover Korean Tea Culture.
The Director Mrs Oh keeps culturally
significant tea practices alive. Visit the
Confucian Temple, walk the whole of Tea
Street visiting tea shops and tea ceramic
shops, meander Medicine Street for
perhaps a “medicinal” foot bath and then
onto tasting local food. Some of the world’s
finest tea ceramics are found in this small
nation, and you will be shown some of the
best. You’ll also spend time with one of
Korea’s greatest tea scholars and founder
of the Panyaro Tea Institute in Insado ng - a
rare honour. There is so much to do, no
doubt you’ll want to stay longer.
