by Swansea University's Institute of Life
Science on 25-26 January 2018. The
agenda and keynote speakers will be
made available on the UKSPA website
prior to the event.
THE HOSTS
Founded in 1920, Swansea is a vibrant
research-led university, enjoying a period
of growth. Already over £72m has been
invested at Singleton Park Campus, with
a further £450m investment at the Bay
Campus. The brand new Bay Campus
development will enhance the current
multicultural dual-campus community, to
include the Computational Foundry and
Student Residences. UKSPA and its hosts
look forward to showing you around.
ILS is Wales’ premier
purpose-built medical
research facility
BUCANIER PROGRAMME
Swansea University Institute of Life
Science (ILS) is a purpose-built medical
research facility. Itself a collaboration
between the university and Welsh
government, the ILS is also one of six
partners in the BUCANIER project.
Cultivating the spirit of Open Innovation,
the Building Clusters and Networks in
the Innovation Enterprise and Research
(BUCANIER) operation is supported by
€2.3m through the European Regional
Development Fund project as part of
the Ireland and Wales Programme.
BUCANIER works directly with the Life
Sciences, Food and Drink, and Renewable
Energy fields as complementary industry
sectors across the two nations. Find out
