A year of consolidation Paul Wright summarises UKSPA ’ s 2017 Annual Report
We have had a successful year continuing to deliver our core services to our Membership and building up our reserves , whilst navigating a rapidly changing sector . We converted challenge to success along the way with the UK and overseas conference , exhibition and awards programme in York in May , and the issue of our publishing tender and contract agreement with Future Fusion .
The future of the Association is sound , but we need to work hard to ensure that our members ’ innovation places are central to new forms of ecosystem development , to new local , regional and national areas of innovation , and to new innovation partnerships .
Events In 2016-17 we met at : Loughborough University Science Enterprise Park ( May 2016 ), Pentlands Science Park & Roslin Institute ( Oct 2016 ), and University of Nottingham Innovation Park ( Jan 2017 ).

Financial Overview The annual accounts reflect a year of consolidation , but perhaps most importantly an overall growth of around 10 % for the Association . While £ 11,000 was added to our balance sheet , annual income from membership subscriptions dipped slightly . We have , however , experienced an increase in membership applications , and this change sees us returning a healthy growth profile for the current financial year . Our financial position remains stable , and having built a healthy level of reserves , we will shortly be entering a period of investment in our IT software and hardware systems . ■
