“I’m still not feeling great but my form’s brilliant and
the hard work I’ve been doing in practice is paying off.
Hopefully tomorrow I can have another good day and
go all the way, but I’ve got to focus on the semi-finals
first.”
Phil Taylor two continued his impressive form as he
overcame Wes Newton 8-2 with an awesome 109.28.
The duo actually shared the first two legs, before
Newton was punished for missed darts at double,
allowing Taylor to lead 4-1 at the break.

The match was then all over before the next break
as an ever more confident and domination Taylor
sealed the second session 4-1 to book his place in the
semi-finals.

“It was a good game and I don’t think the score
reflected the game.”
“Wes missed some doubles early on and let me
off, but he’s very consistent and it could have been
a lot closer than it was. He’s predictable and you
know what you’ll get against him, and I think he’s
got a big future.”
James Wade suffered more than most at the
hands of the partisan Scottish crowd as he
took on Australian Simon Whitlock in a thrilling
quarter final clash. The Aldershot-based thrower
held his nerve and his composure however to
come from 4-1 down to seal a dramatic final leg
victory.
“It means a lot to me to be in the semi-finals,” said
Wade. “It was a big game and I’m trying to prove a
point in terms of the rankings because I’ve dropped
out of the top four this year.”
“I don’t think that I should be ranked number six in the world
and it’s starting to become a bit of a challenge because I know
that I’ve got to play good darts. I’m starting to throw straight darts
again and I’m feeling very good.”
Raymond van Barneveld was also a come from behind winner over
fellow Dutchman Michael van Gerwen. The five-time World Champion
