Glen Durrant claimed victory in the Northern Ireland Open on 10th
November with a 6-5 victory over Glen Spearing in a closely fought
final.
Durrant overcame Jim Williams in the semi-finals to set up the final
with Spearing who had earlier defeated Barry Copeland.
In the ladies event Deta Hedman overcame Aileen de Graaf in the semifinals, whilst Rachel Brooks came past Trina Gulliver at the same stage
to set up a final with Hedman.
The final proved to be a one-sided affair as Hedman retained the title
that she had claimed last year with a 5-0 victory.
In the mixed pairs Martin Phillips and Rachel Brooks overcame Sam
Hewson and Paula Jacklin 3-2 in a closely fought final.
