The Masters

Friday 1st November saw the introduction of a new tournament
to the darts calendar as the PDC unveiled their latest flagship
event. The Coral Masters, held at the Royal Highland Centre in
Edinburgh, pitted the top sixteen players from the PDC Order
of Merit against each other as they chased an impressive first
prize of £50,000
The event went down well with fans in the UK, who were able to follow
all of the action live on ITV4, as well as around the World with fans
able to tune into livepdc.tv. The venue itself was all but sold out, with
lively crowds adding to the action as always.
First Round
It’s no secret that Phil Taylor loves to be the first name on any new
trophy and he got his campaign off to a fantastic start with a 6-3
victory over Terry Jenkins in the first round.
“I’m really happy to have won that because it was as tough as I’d
expected,” said Taylor. “We’ve had a few games like that in the
last few months where it’s been nip and tuck, and Terry’s a great
competitor.”
