German Darts Championships Photo: PDC Europe Friday 6th September saw the top names from the PDC head to Hildesheim in Germany for the sixth event of this season’s European Tour. The top 32, with the notable exception of Phil Taylor and James Wade, who was serving a four event ban, from the Pro Tour Order of Merit took on 32 qualifiers from around the UK and Europe in an event which would prove to be a breakthrough for Dave Chisnall. “It was a good performance and I want to try and build on this now over the weekend” Michael van Gerwen First Round Michael van Gerwen got his tournament off to a flyer as he attempted to win a third European Tour title of the year. The Dutchman overcame York’s Terry Temple 6-2 in his opening encounter of the tournament and was looking to be a significant threat during the early stages. “It was a good performance and I want to try and build on this now over the weekend,” said van Gerwen.
