French Open
Scott Mitchell claimed his fifth career ranking title with victory in the 2013 French Open. The Dorset based player led early on in the final with Tony O’Shea, but was pegged back to 4-4 by the experienced Stockport based thrower.
It was Mitchell however who held his nerve to land a 13-dart leg, in the process securing a victory that sees him well placed to secure Lakeside qualification. Michel van der Horst and Gary Robson both made the semi-finals, whilst Wales captain Martin Philips was the highest profile player to make the quarter finals.
