Belgium Open Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams made a sensational return to form over the weekend of 3rd and 4th August as he claimed victory in the Belgium Open. Adams, whose last BDO ranking event victory came back in 2011, defeated current World Number 1 Stephen Bunting 4-1 in the last 32 before moving on to seal victory over Jeffrey de Graaf of the Netherlands by the same scoreline in the last 16. The three time World Champion then went on to defeat Robbie Green 5-0 in the quarter finals before producing a 2 sets to 1 victory over Tony O’Shea in a tight semi-final. Adams completed his tournament victory with a 3-2 sets victory over an in form James Wilson in a close fought final to secure what has become a rare tournament victory. Wilson too had defeated a string of top players including former World Champion Christian Kist and Dutch international Remco van Eijden.
