If you looked at Phil then perhaps physical fitness would not be your first impression, but whatever his outside appearance Taylor possesses a fitness level above and beyond what his main rivals are blessed with. Of course fitness alone is not enough to prolong a career and perhaps the single biggest reason behind Taylor’s continued success is a passion for the sport, a will to win and a desire to play on. He is perhaps one of the most single minded individuals in sport and he loves to win. If this means finding another gear up on stage he invariably will. No player in the history of darts has even come close to matching Taylor’s will to win. Of course everyone gives it their all on stage but someway, somehow Taylor always seems to find a little bit more and if we accept that there have been other players who have the talent to match him then this can only be down to a single-minded will to win on the part of Taylor. orbit!” While all of his main rivals have had spells of poor form, Taylor has been able to maintain his performance levels for an extended period of time.
