UK Darts Issue 5 - August 2013 | Page 12

couldn’t wait to have another go. I loved the crowds reactions, they made me feel really welcome and special. I tried to reply to all my messages I was overwhelmed with the lovely reaction. Do you play darts yourself or do you have any plans to do so? I have now got a real interest in darts, I have even got all my family addicted now! My mum watched every walk on of me and by the end of the Cash Converters Players Championships she was a dart fan too! I think it’s such a great sport for everyone to enjoy as you can socialise at the same time, and have a go yourself, everybody no matter what level can enjoy it! Who is your favourite dart player? I don’t have a favourite player, I think they are all so lovely and friendly. I loved Peter Wright’s hair, I like people that are different, and of course his pink shirt is cool! I think Phil Taylor is amazing, he is so focused and can have banter with us before he plays. Andy Hamilton is lovely too, he played Taylor in the semis at Minehead, it was horrible as I wanted them both to go through! What is your night at the darts like? A typical night would be get ready back stage, have a diet coke, then chat to some players and get excited about going on stage. In between games we fix our hair, read our twitter comments, reply to as many people as possible then we try and catch the end of the game before walking out the next player. What do you like to do in your spare time, if you have any? My passions away from work are my family. I work away from home so much I try and do special things with them when we are together. I am very close to my mum, and I treated her to a trip to Crete in September. We had an amazing week together and where nicknamed the Belfast belles. We didn’t stop laughing the whole week. What would be your darting nickname? What would you have as your walk-on music? My nickname would have to be Barbie, as I am the only official real life Barbie in Europe for the toy company itself, Mattel. My walk on music wouldn’t be Barbie Girl however, as it doesn’t have a great beat. I would choose ‘Walking On Sunshine’ by Katrina And The Waves. I love that song it always makes me happy. Do you have any plans to go to the darts as a fan? 100% yes!! I would get to see my friends as the walk-on girls so I would cheer them on. I would be able to let my hair down with the rest of the crowd, have a couple of drinks , pub lunch and dress up. I think the darts is perfect for a first date, as if it got awkward or the conversation ran dry you can chat about the game, and the silly fancy dress costumes!
