Well it has been another thrilling month in the world of darts , Michael van Gerwen claimed his eighth , ninth and tenth titles of the calendar year and Phil Taylor returned to winning ways on TV at the UK Open .
The highlight for me has been a four day trip to Bolton for the UK Open . The event is the closest to our offices in Lancashire and I have been before as a fan and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it . The chance to be involved as one of the many journalists providing up to the minute coverage of the event has for me just been an added bonus . I would like to extend my thanks to Dave Allen and the rest of the PDC team who did such an excellent job of looking after us all so well over the weekend .
Of course with Blackpool just around the corner myself and the team are on the edge of our seats with anticipation . There is still however the small matter of the European Championships to come before that however and in this month ’ s issue we look at Andy Hamilton ’ s prospects of claiming a first major title as well as taking a look at some of the players who are perhaps under many peoples radar when it comes to potential big match winners or stars of the future and our thanks as ever to Jay Shaw of live-darts . co . uk for an excellent article .
