Defending Champion Anastasia Dobromyslova was out of sorts, but the
Russian ace still managed to edge past Karin Krappen in a deciding set,
meanwhile number one seed and tournament favourite Deta Hedman
took very little time at all as she demolished Lorraine Farlam 2-0 in
sets.
19-year-old debutant Fallon Sherrock impressed as she overcame
Rilana Erades 2-0 and there was a first ever win on the Lakeside stage
for Wales captain Julie Gore. Meanwhile Ann Louise Peters and Irina

Peters dropped only one leg and, despite averaging only 67, she was
far too good for Gore who seemed to be struggling somewhat with the
release of her dart at times during the match.
In the second of the ladies quarter finals, tournament favourite Deta
Hedman continued her flawless run in this years championships with a
2-0 victory over Germany’s Irina Armstrong.
The result was not as comfortable as it looked for Hedman however
and she needed every point of her 75 average to win through taking the
two sets 3-1 and 3-2 respectively.
Lisa Ashton overcame Tamara Schuur 2-0 to book her spot in the semifinals for a second consecutive year.
The Bolton-based thrower led 2-0 in the opening set, before being
pegged back to 2-2 after missing multiple darts at double. She did
eventually take the set however and never looked back as she averaged
nearly 90 during the second set which she won 3-0.

In the last of the ladies quarter finals 19-year-old debutant Fallon
Sherrock impressed again, but she ultimately missed four match darts,
allowing defending champion Anastasia Dobromyslova to clinch a 2-1
victory.
Sherrock took the opening set 3-2, with the highlight being a 109
checkout, before moving into a 2-1 lead in the second. Two missed
match darts in the fourth leg allowed Anastasia to level set, before a
further two in the deciding leg saw the Russian level at 1-1.
From then on in there was only one winner, Anastasia took the deciding
set 3-0 to continue an immaculate run on the Lakeside stage that had
seen her go unbeaten in 11 matches stretching back to 2007.
Semi Finals
Deta Hedman finally put pay to the challenge of qualifier Ann-Louise
Peters of Denmark with a 2-0 victory that saw the World Masters
Champion at her brilliant best.
Hedman took out two 100+ checkout and dropped only one leg as she
