Ben Ward A recent PDC World Championship qualifier, Ben Ward has a very bright future in the sport. Runner-up to Ross Smith on the Challenge Tour Order of Merit, the twenty five year old went on to win two Challenge Tour events in 2013. Now on the Pro Tour, Ward will have a chance to play against the world’s top players in 2014 and will be hoping to rise up the rankings over the course of the next year. His recent preliminary round defeat at the World Championships to Zoran Lerchbacher was a minor setback, but the Dorchester local will be hoping to get one stage further in the next World Championships. Dave Pallett Midlands darter Dave Pallett has shown some strong form over the last twelve months and will be looking to maintain his progress in 2014. Having defeated Phil Taylor on the tour last year, Pallett reached the last 16 of a number of floor tournaments, including the PDC Dutch Darts Masters, where he defeated Mark Walsh and Dave Chisnall along the way. Pallett also reached the last 32 of the BDO Masters in 2012, defeating Jimmy Hendriks and Davy Dodds, before losing to Tony O’Shea. A steady performer who will rise up the rankings this year. Matthew Dennant Walsall based Matthew Dennant is an unfamiliar name in the darting world but is widely tipped to make a big impression on the tour in the coming years. Having qualified for the UK Open earlier this year, he went on to reach the last 64, before losing 9-1 to Adrian Lewis.
