British Sculptor sparks conversation
Nicola Anthony is a sculptor known for artworks which turn narratives and conversations into art , whimsically capturing a global zeitgeist or powerfully raising up voices which have been silenced .
Her involvement in Expo 2020 included live art creation in front of an audience , a satellite COP26 art showcase , a UK Pavilion Instagram campaign sharing the creative process , meet-the-artist sessions and public speaking engagements .
Nicola Anthony was selected to be the Artist-in-Residence at the UK Pavilion by an industry panel led by Clare Burnett , President of The Royal Society of Sculptors , and Dr Paul Thompson , Vice Chancellor of the Royal College of Art .
Her sculpture See Things Differently responded to live social media feeds and challenged visitors to think about climate change . With perfect timing , the UK Pavilion scheduled its spotlight moment during the week of the COP26 conference .
