Why are we developing it?
UK Coaching and 1st4sport believe that great coaching starts with great coach education and development. That’ s why, after years of research, insight, and collaboration with our partners, we are creating the 1st4sport Level 4 Qualification in Coach Education.
This qualification will fill a vital gap. While coaching is evolving into a more professional discipline, the development of those who train and support coaches must evolve too.
With only a Level 3 entry-level qualification widely used, there’ s a pressing need for a higher-level qualification that reflects the complexity and importance of coach education. The Level 4 qualification is being designed to meet this need by investing in the coach education workforce, building capability, driving excellence, and ultimately transforming coaching experiences across the UK.
