The Coaching Behaviours
Framework provides
organisations with the
ability to understand
and develop the type
of workforce they need
to effectively coach the
participants they want to
reach.
This in turn increases the quality
of coaching experiences, enabling
organisations to bring Great
Coaching to a more diverse
audience.
Through the launch of the
framework, and using animations
and infographics, we created a vivid
picture of what Great Coaching
looks like through the eyes of the
participant.
Swim England’s Story
Swim England approached UK
Coaching to ask for the best way to
recruit coaches for their well-being
programme. Using the power of the
Coaching Behaviours Framework,
we worked with them to look at
their approach to coach recruitment.
The results were so positive, they
are now advocating the same
approach – when it comes to
recruiting and selecting a coaching
workforce for their projects – with
their delivery partners.
“The Swim England Water
Well-being programme has been
developed to support coaches to
address all the barriers of access

for people with long-term health
conditions or impairments, including
how the workforce is prepared
to receive and best understand
the needs and motivations of the
individual.
“Applying the UK Coaching
Workforce Principles helped us
identify the need to develop
inclusive customer experience
training aimed at all front-line staff.
“The support from UK Coaching,
in further developing our
understanding of effective coaching
behaviours, has helped us to
reframe and identify opportunities
to support the development of
the aquatic workforce, ensuring a
high-quality customer experience,
and ensuring a great customer
journey from car park to reception
to poolside.”
