PANEL BLIND TEST AVERAGE SCORE: 8.38 5 Dave Worthington, Whisky blogger and cigar lover A N, Midlands based cigar lover Will Hargrove, London based wine expert and cigar lover Average Score: 8.71 Strength: “Moderate” Flavour: “Very good” Aroma: “Very good” Personal View: “Great cigar” Comments: “Cold drawing gave some stable notes, hay, straw and a little earthy. Once lit the dominant flavour was cedar wood but with a good dose of cracked pepper midway through the cigar. The burn was very even and the ash firm and it was about halfway through before the ash dropped. The cedar note gave way to pine towards the end of almost an hour’s smoke.” Average Score: 7.71 Strength: “Somewhat strong” Flavour: “Good” Aroma: “Good” Personal View: “Every now & then” Comments: “This is a good looking, sturdy cigar, and very firm but with a consistent and satisfying draw. Initially a little lacking in flavour or depth for my tastes but in no way unpleasant, however the flavour and strength do creep up on you as the cigar develops into a pleasing smoke.” Average Score: 8.71 Strength: “Strong” Flavour: “Good” Aroma: “Very good” Personal View: “Good cigar” Comments: “Wonderful looking cigar, great oils and sheen. Lovely balance to start, but quite heady at the end. Needs time.”
