The Scissor Cutter
The V-Cut or Wedge Cut
· Scissor cutters are ideal for all sizes and
shapes of cigar
· V cutters are Ideal for larger ring gauges
· Scissor cutters are an elegant alternative
to the guillotine and, similarly cut a
larger surface area off of the cap.
· Using scissor cutters it is often easier to
see the cigar as you cut
· Remember to make the cut reasonably
quick and precise, if the blade is sharp
this will ensure the scissors don’t crush
the cigars or tear wrapper.
To Use:
· Hold the cigar firmly in one hand
· Identify the point at which you wish to
cut the cigar looking carefully for the line
of the cap of the cigar
· There is no risk of taking off the cap.
· Each side of the “V” creates for more
surface area
· The V-Cutter, MUST be sharp and of
good quality
· Avoid old antique v cutters as they will
damage your cigars
· V cutters are not ideal if you chew your
cigars
· Once you have become familiar with this
type of cutter try a double cut
· It’s not easy to a V cutter on Piramides,
pig tails or smaller ring gauges.
To Use:
· Position the blades carefully
· Placing the cigar into the V-Cutter
· Cut positively and quickly
· Firmly without pressing the cigar too
hard
· Make a quick and controlled cut, but
don’t remove the cigar until the cutter
blade is back into its full open position.
