Laurence Davis Owner of Sautter
wins the Silver Chaveta
Hunters & Frankau has awarded the Silver Chaveta for Habanos Retailer of the Year 2015
to Laurence Davis the owner of Sautter Cigars. He received the award in recognition of his
outstanding contribution to the UK fine cigar trade.
Laurence received the much coveted award
from Jemma Freeman, the Managing Director
of Hunters & Frankau at the launch of Bolivar
Belgravia at the Churchill Bar in Portman Square.
The previous winners of the Silver Chaveta are:
Speaking at the ceremony Jemma Freeman
paid tribute to the way Laurence had developed
and grown Sautters as a cigar business. Jemma
highlighted the new Knightsbridge store as a
great place to meet, talk and enjoy a ciga. She
highlighted Laurence’s love of Cuban cigars and
his eclectic and unique development of accessories
to complement the cigar smoking experience.
First awarded in 1999, H&F presents the Silver
Chaveta trophy to one Havana Cigar Specialist
each year. The criteria for consideration include
Habanos sales and promotion, presentation and
humidification, investment and innovation as
well as pro-activity within the market.
This is the second time Sautter has been awarded
the Silver Chaveta, Desmond Sautter was given
the honour in 2006.
