Conclusions Well first of all I can tell you that all four spirits were thoroughly relished, with each bringing something and enhancing the satisfaction of cigar chosen; The Dalmore with its rich red fruits and Christmas spices, the Corriemhor with its smooth creamy vanilla custard notes and peppery finish. Then the Cognacs, where I found more similarities than differences, offering flavours of liquorice and soft aromatic spices to the experience. I know you're wanting to know my favourite from these four, but I'd like to pick one from each category. I've very quickly become a fan of the Corriemhor since discovering it, it's equally good to sip with or without a cigar. I was also particularly taken with the Hine Cigar Reserve, probably because I had more time to get to know this having a larger sample. Again this is equally satisfying with or without a cigar. That said, each of these will easily light up any cigar smoker’s night, and hopefully, the forthcoming Festive Season offers you the opportunity to sit back and relax with a favourite cigar and one of these expertly crafted, oak aged spirits. 17 The Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve From The Whisky Exchange The Corriemhor Cigar Malt Reserve From Master of Malt Hine Cigar Reserve Extra Old Cognac From C.Gars Sautter’s Cognac ‘Maduro’ From Sautter Dave Worthington is the author of the www. whiskydiscovery.com blog
