B
rennan Canada is making himself right at
home this season.
The University of Kentucky walk-on and
former George Rogers Clark standout has enjoyed
being a part of the Wildcats, which he deems a dream
come true, considering he grew up a Kentucky fan.
“I’m excited to be (on) the team,” Canada said.
“It’s always been a dream of mine to wear a Kentucky
jersey. I look forward to getting to work and chasing
my dreams as a part of the Big Blue Nation.”
One of the go-to players on his high school team,
Canada fi nds himself surrounded by players who are
at or above his skill level and he doesn’t mind
the competition.
“It’s great competition, playing against fi ve stars
every day,” he said. “It’s great to be here, I’m happy
to be here. I’m ready to get the season started, and
I think everyone else is, too.”
Those practices, Canada said, are “very competitive”
and he added the team has bonded well through pre-
season conditioning and workout sessions.
“Our chemistry is really good as a team, which is
making practice a lot more challenging,” he said.
