INTERVIEW IDAH DEKA AM: How would you describe yourself? ID: I am hardworking, adventur- ous and empathetic. Empathy is one of my strongest points, I am constantly reminded that I cannot save the world AM: What inspired you take on engineering as a career path ? ID: I was good at Maths and science and with little knowledge of the vast careers one can follow I was channelled to being a doctor or an engineer. Faced with the dilemma I would say fate led me to engineering. Having being in the industry indust for almost five years now my experiences have convinced me that this is the career for me as it complements AM: What does your job entail? ID: My job entails designing and analysis of buildings, checking of drawings and doing site visits. I spend most of my time at my desk doing either hand calculations or modelling and analysing the structure on prokon. Engineering drawings are an integral part of my job.my personality. AM: What do the terms world-class and excellence mean to you? Are they notions you aspire to? If yes, in what ways? share with us? ID: I would say
