This year, our Year 10 camp saw an extended stay by the Great Wall of China before a trip into the city of Beijing. Students were given the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, stepping out of their comfort zone to really challenge their fitness and culinary skills. With two nights at The Great Wall, students had a night camping as well as our homestay. This time was certainly a highlight as we spent time exploring and walking a wild section of the wall, later undertaking the challenging via ferrata course we were so proud to see all students accomplish it, with some overcoming their fear of heights!

Once in Beijing, we began our culinary adventure trying different foods every night including a special trip to a Beijing Duck restaurant and making our own special blend tea with bespoke designer packaging! Students were divided into groups and given the task of taking a member of staff out to dinner one evening and the next afternoon the students shopped for ingredients locally in the Hutong before taking a cooking class and preparing a dish for a giant banquet. A wonderfully experience and successful trip with new friends made, new boundaries pushed and new challenges faced! Well done, Year 10!
