Science in UISG-Primary

Year 4-6 Students are given the time, and resources to play with circuits, makey-makeys and Arduino programming. By inquiring into the type and purpose of their robot, they will build the skills necessary to program and control a simple machine.

The Science Council meets every Monday to discuss issues and take action. So far, their main focus has been on waste and wildlife. From researching composts, to building birdhouses, these students are here to make our school a better place and show that they are responsible members of our community.

The Science club runs three times a week, changing bi-monthly between Year 1-3 and Year 4-6. Students flock to the club and enjoy the hands on experience. The club challenges them to put their thinking skills to the test; to take what they have learned to the next level and make predictions about what may happen next. This is Science skill building at its best!
