On day three we were woken up by the now familiar call of Mr. Healing. However, some of us (me, Daruish and Kobe) slept straight through and had to be woken up by the teachers and brought over to breakfast late. We had to eat last but we eventually caught up with the group. We walked the distance to the parking lot and we all boarded the bus to the Yangshuo water caves.

The cave entrance was actually a river so we had to board a boat and enter in two groups via a single wooden boat. After we were inside we toured the cave and learned about stalagmites and stalactites. Stalactites are an icicle-shaped formation that hang from the ceiling and stalagmites are the opposite on the ground and grow taller. After the caving activity on the way out we encountered a big mud pool and many of us decided to "jump" in and splash everyone around them.

After about ten minutes, people were covered with mud beyond recognition and were laughing like crazy. Mercifully Eapo told them to get out and get dressed (they had swimming gear on) into their shirts, and everyone set off for the bus stop at the entrance and boarded the old bus and headed off to base camp.

A truly international education
