“University of Georgia students, faculty, staff and administrators
are making both simple and profoundly responsible choices every day
to promote the health and well-being of all, now and in the future.
We believe that our actions matter.
Together, we’re creating a culture of sustainability at UGA.
As a flagship institution of higher education, we have a tremendous opportunity –
and responsibility - to train the next generation of leaders, to provide our students
with both roots and wings, to lead by example, and to inspire. The work
of the people and programs reflected in this report inspire me.
Members of the University of Georgia community are addressing
“grand challenges” and immediate concerns to promote social well-being,
ecologic integrity and economic security for all, locally and around the globe.
We have a long way to go toward a Sustainable UGA and we’re making progress.”
